i’m still here. been busy and lazy to blog.

friends got married. friends gave birth. but life’s pretty much the same for me. it’s not true that the only constant in life is change.

i had planned to buy a new mobile phone but decided to shift my priority to a new computer.

6 years ago i bought a notebook with these:
pentium iii processor 1ghz
256mb sdram
30gb hdd
13.3″ xga tft colour display
integrated vga with 3d graphics accelerator and mpeg-2 support
cd r/rw drive

tomorrow, i’m going to buy the latest model of the same series from the same brand with these:
core 2 duo processor t9400
2gb ddr3 1066 sdram (with free upgrade to 4gb ram)
250gb sata hdd (with free upgrade to 320 hdd)
14.1″ wxga tft colour display
intel graphics media accelerator x4500 with up to 384mb shared memory
dual layer super multi dvd+-rw/cd-rw drive

all these and a whole lot more for about $1k cheaper than what i paid 6 years ago. i’m just so excited!

it’s about 2 weeks to pay day. minus the bills, the transport expenses, the study loan repayment, the money i gave my parents, the investment savings, and of course the shopping, i’ve practically wiped out my august pay. well, almost.

i’ve never spent so much in a month. but it’s okay.

i made my parents happy.

but most importantly, i made my mum happy.

A man came to the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people should I be dutiful?’ The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: ‘Your mother.’ The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: ‘Your mother.’ The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: ‘Your mother.’ The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: ‘Then your father’.
